Why a Siberian
Three things people fall for, every single time.
Siberians grow a dense triple coat, guard hairs, an undercoat, and a full ruff, that sheds cold and water and makes them look permanently ready for a photo shoot. Grooming is easy: a brush twice a week keeps it in shape.
They fetch. They greet you at the door. They follow you from room to room and figure out how to open cabinets. Siberians mature slowly, staying playful and kitten-like well into adulthood, and they bond hard to their people.
Big, round, and set wide, Siberian eyes run from gold to green to the striking blue of a Neva Masquerade. Combined with a broad, expressive face, they give this breed a look that's hard to walk past.
Allergic to cats?
Many Siberians produce less of the Fel d 1 protein that triggers most cat allergies. Lower is not zero, and it varies cat to cat, but a lot of allergy sufferers who reacted to other cats do fine around a Siberian.
